The field excitement from the power source, the stator (charging coil) is also incompatible between the two systems, so the ignitors are also unique and not interchangeable.I have a friend that has a 2000 Kawasaki 2510 Mule. He has had a problem with it overheating after a short drive. He took it to a dealer and the replaced the radiator cap, T-Stat, fan switch, head gasket.
