The mechanical parts are almost identical. Here is a direct recoil comparison.And the tacops has 2 more mags and is at a base anywhere from 50-100$ cheaper than the macro. The comp isn't my thing personally so I went with tacops. I love it. Just got it Saturday. For a first CCW get the tacops. A comp is definitely not necessary on the x macro, it's a very smooth shooting gun.
